BWI of Gainesville, FL offers public meetings each month to educate, support, and spread the love to all current and future babywearers in the community. Meetings are FREE and open to the public. If you’ve never been to a meeting before, be sure to check out our post, What to Expect at a Babywearing Meeting.
The January weekday meeting has been cancelled. We will instead focus our time and energy this month on securing a new meeting location, recruiting volunteers, and training educators to help with the weekday meetings. We anticipate continuing weekday meetings in February.
If you borrowed a lending library carrier from the December 12 meeting, you have three options:
1. Return your carrier at the Saturday, January 21 meeting (see below for more information),
2. Contact Sarah at email@example.com to schedule a drop off time, or
3. Return the carrier at the February weekday meeting, yet to be scheduled at the time of this post.
We are looking for the following volunteer positions to help with the continuation of the weekday meeting:
Greeters, check in, new educators, lending library return and check out, and meeting set up and clean up.
As volunteers with BWI of Gainesville, you would choose a committee to serve on to help our mission in the community. Committees include: Administration, Education and Training, Membership and Outreach, Lending Library, and Donations and Fundraising. For more information on volunteering with our local chapter, be sure to view our blog, BWI of Gainesville Needs YOU! Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest in volunteering with BWI of Gainesville to keep the weekday meetings going.
Saturday, January 21, 10am-12pm
This meeting will be held at LifeSouth, located at 4039 W. Newberry Rd in Gainesville.
Bring your own carriers to the meeting to receive assistance from one of our Volunteer Babywearing Educators. Or find a new carrier option through the Lending Library. Members are encouraged to check out carriers to practice for the month. Borrowed carriers are due back no later than the first 15 minutes of the next meeting.
Remember to bring your Terracycle packages to support our growing chapter. Bring your rinsed Kcups and food pouches as a donation for our chapter.
We look forward to seeing you in January!
We hope everyone is happy and healthy! If you or your kids are under the weather, please be courteous and avoid sharing illness at BWI of Gainesville meetings and play dates. Please do not attend if anyone in your household has had a fever within the last 48 hours, has a deep cough or thick mucous in the nose, a rash, or has been sick with a stomach virus in the last 48 hours.
